From the highest hills of the mountain belt that crowns the flat area of the western arm of the Golfo degli Angeli (Gulf of Angels), extends the territory that goes by the name of Capoterra.
The town of Capoterra is about 17 km from Cagliari.
Situated between the sea (to the south, the Maddalena Spiaggia beach), the mountains and the lagoon (the Santa Gilla pond), it is mainly an agricultural and pastoral town that has only recently been developing, thanks also to its geographical position, a previously unexpected tourism. Its demographic growth after World War II is remarkable.
Capoterra lies between two industrial poles, the Capoterra-Assemini industrial zone and the Moratti village, which have guaranteed jobs for Capoterra citizens.
Capoterra relies heavily on the secondary and tertiary sectors, but there are also many agritourisms and greenhouses for cultivation.
